Blog Topic Selection

Given much of our blog traffic comes from Pinterest, I look at Pinterest Trends and top performing pins to start brewing up ideas for upcoming blog posts based on planned campaigns for the month. After extensive Google keyword research and a deep-dive into our event tracking and search performance analytics, I use my findings to determine what topics will perform well on the blog, and which would be better as product collection pages on our ecommerce site..

Writing Process

Many of our blog posts are fueled by the expertise and ideas from our President and Lead Interior Designer of our sister brand, others are based more on research, and a lot are a healthy mix of both. Once each post goes through the information-gathering phase, I create an outline to ensure we’re covering the most important elements. I then take the words and shape them into something our readers can resonate with using a tone that’s friendly, conversational, and respectful yet informational and educated.
